Bhimitkom Project 2020: Empowering Youth with Disabilities for Positive Change
The Bhimitkom Project 2020 aimed to raise awareness of disability issues on social media and empower youth with disabilities to be active agents of change. The project focused on social media advocacy, providing training and resources to individuals with disabilities to help them effectively use digital platforms.
Key activities included:
Training 30 Individuals: Thirty people with disabilities from various regions (North, Central, and South) received training on the basics of using social media platforms. This training was designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to communicate their message and advocate for their rights online.
Social Media Campaign: The project involved the publication of 7 electronic posts on social media, addressing the use of appropriate terminology for different types of disabilities, helping raise awareness about disability-related issues.
Live Broadcast Workshops: Three online workshops were held via Facebook Live, focusing on various issues affecting people with disabilities. These workshops offered a platform for participants to engage, ask questions, and learn more about the challenges faced by the disabled community.
