A training course on etiquette for interacting with persons with disabilities was held for a group of government employees and several workers in Palestinian civil society.

The Bihmtkom Association for Youth with Disabilities organized a training course on etiquette for interacting with persons with disabilities of all types, which took place on Sunday and Monday, December 15th and 16th, 2024, at the association’s headquarters in Ramallah.

The course targeted a group of government employees and several workers in Palestinian civil society, aiming to instill principles of conscious and responsible interaction with persons with disabilities. It also sought to enhance the participants’ awareness of the basic principles for human and professional interaction with persons with disabilities, focusing on effective and appropriate communication etiquette that takes into account their specific needs. The course addressed how to create an inclusive environment that shows respect and awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, while promoting their active participation in society.

During the opening of the course, Ms. Amira Abu Arqoub, Chairperson of the Board, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of this course in shedding light on the best practices for interacting with persons with disabilities. She praised the role of the association in raising societal awareness and provided a comprehensive introduction to the association, covering its mission and goals in empowering youth and enhancing their integration into society.

In this context, Mr. Mohammad Abu Khalil, one of the founders of the association and its former Chairperson, reviewed the founding phase of the association, touching on the key projects and activities it has worked on since its inception, which have contributed to making a tangible impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.

For his part, Mr. Mohammad Al-Omleh, the association’s Secretary, shared the association’s pioneering vision, focusing on implementing innovative projects that highlight the role of both youth with disabilities and without disabilities, emphasizing the importance of these projects in fostering community collaboration and integration.
